As a leading Israeli institution for educating engineers, Afeka College cultivates relationships with academic institutions worldwide, as well as industry and entrepreneurial organizations overseas
In July 2023, Afeka hosted two international delegations.
The first visit was by six senior academic delegates from Jiangsu University of Technology, who came following a memorandum of understanding signed several months ago as part of a collaboration with the China Israel Changzhou Innovation Park.
At the visit, the two institutions examined collaborative possibilities in research, student delegations, and faculty exchanges.
The second visit included 25 technology, academia, and social entrepreneurship delegates from Morocco, who visited Israel as part of the Innovation and Social and Environmental Entrepreneurship course initiated by Mashav, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs unit in charge of international cooperation and aid. The visit by this delegation directly follows from the positive feedback that the Ministry of Foreign affairs and the agency for international cooperation received regarding the successful visit of a delegation from the Amazon, which will bear fruit in summer ’23 in the form of a joint online hackathon for students from Afeka and the Federal University of Amazonas.
Both delegations were positively impressed with Afeka College, the Afeka Framework for Engineer Education, and the faculty’s commitment, and expressed a desire to deepen collaborations in the future.
Alon Barnea, Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships, and the delegations’ host: “International collaborations are an integral aspect of an academic institution’s essence. Thus, we place great importance on building connections and infrastructures that will serve as fertile grounds for faculty interested in joint research and visits, as well as for students – based on the understanding that an ability to collaborate with overseas colleagues and development teams is critical for modern engineers. Afeka College encourages these collaborations, and works to provide students with opportunities to meet and work with overseas colleagues, through a variety of options including hackathons, delegations, clubs, and final projects.”
