What sets apart the undergraduate program in medical engineering at Afeka College is its emphasis on the multidisciplinary professional training of medical engineers, and its combination of engineering studies and the acquisition of knowledge, understanding, and skill with medical devices, clinical systems, and medical information systems.
The B.Sc program in medical engineering includes theoretical studies in engineering and medicine, and tours of imaging and catheterization rooms at medical centers and in the medical engineering industry. Additionally, students get to experience practical work at labs, with advanced stations that simulate physiological systems or serve to measure real physiological systems. Thanks to Afeka’s active involvement in professional associations and the industry ecosystem, students are exposed to the industry, and to various collaborations that enrich their understanding of common industry practices.
Afeka’s medical engineering faculty includes lecturers with doctoral degrees and industry experience, who work in both teaching and research, and who are members of the Israel Society of Medical and Biological Engineering. The study atmosphere is pleasant and supportive, with learning in small classrooms. Students benefit from a personal rapport with teachers, who guide, direct, and advise them throughout their studies.
