Exploring the Infinite – The Afeka Space Club

Founded in October 2021 by passionate Afeka students, the Space Club was created to unite those captivated by space exploration and its remarkable engineering challenges. What started as a student-led knowledge hub has grown into a dynamic, supportive community that brings space enthusiasts together through a wide range of extracurricular initiatives.

From participating in NASA's International Space Apps Challenge—developing solutions for Mars habitation and energy generation on Venus—to stargazing nights with deep-space telescopes, members engage in real-world space experiences that spark innovation and collaboration.

The Space Club is a testament to how student-driven initiatives at Afeka can evolve into thriving platforms for interdisciplinary learning, professional networking, and hands-on project development—combining advanced engineering with humanity’s boundless curiosity for the cosmos.

I wanted to create a home for fellow space enthusiasts like myself, where we could learn, be exposed to, and better understand the connection between space and engineering. Over time, we became a strong, cohesive community. Space is my passion, and I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have the opportunity to be involved with it

What's Next?

Between the enrichment activities, the members' participation in professional conferences, hackathons, formation evenings and social and community involvement, the students continue to dream and think about the future.

These days the students are formulating a plan to send four satellites into space!
