Engineering Tradition: Legacy for Afeka Faculty and Alumni Kids

Just before the academic year began, 60 children of Afeka faculty and alumni visited campus for the annual "Experiencing Engineering" event, a beloved tradition coordinated by the Alumni Relations Division and HR.

The special activity aims to connect youth to their parents' engineering/tech occupations and Afeka's impactful work. It also sparks interest in pursuing STEM. The Social Involvement Unit's Ofek Centers for Skills Development designed the content and guides.

The kids experienced diverse hands-on workshops: viewing microscopes, communicating with robots, controlling smart home lights, using 3D pens, conducting experiments, and flying gliders.

Afeka students leading year-round outreach instructed the activities. Additionally, Car Club head Doron Levy and Engineers Without Borders member Gal Hanan demonstrated their innovative year-long projects.

Afeka believes children should access engineering education early on. We host this annual event alongside year-round programs for diverse youth to provide impactful, engaging STEM exposure. Parents praised the activity, and children loved learning new things on campus.

Nurturing curiosity today develops our next generation of innovators while making academic dreams attainable for all. We're proud to inspire budding young minds.
