Purpose/Essence of the Project

The purpose of the project is to develop a smart system that helps people experiencing post-traumatic stress to cope with bureaucratic procedures, by making filling forms, managing personal information, and reaching personal assistance more accessible, while reducing emotional, cognitive, and physical strain.

Describe the Product/Project

We will develop a smart app that allows users to fill out forms in a personalized fashion and will include real-time detection of emotional distress, based on a combination of voice processing and detecting fluctuations and unusual facial expressions. Based on the identification, the app will dynamically adapt the interface and direct the user to relevant assistance. Additionally, it will include automation for smart information management and form completion using stored data, in order to help the user cope with complex bureaucratic processes.

How Was the Idea Born?

The idea arose during consultation with the project’s supervisor. After learning about the issue of digital accessibility, we realized that populations with invisible disabilities, such as those with post-trauma, are underserved. The need for an adapted solution stems from a combination of emotional overload when filling out bureaucratic forms and the unsuitability of interfaces to the users’ mental and cognitive state.

Why Did You Choose This Project?

We connected with the issue due to its social importance and its profound impact on the lives of people coping with trauma – and chose to delve deeper into it and develop a relevant technological solution.

Is the Project Connected with a Personal Story of Yours or of Someone You Know?

The issue also touches us directly, since we’re personally familiar with cases of coping with trauma in our social circles, and also through knowing the supervisor. This acquaintance has reinforced our understanding of the need for a supportive, accessible solution.

What Need Does It Address and for What Population?

The app assists with bureaucratic difficulties, information overload, and daily coping for people dealing with trauma. It simplifies processes such as filling out forms, managing personal information, and receiving appropriate guidance. The target audience includes sufferers of trauma from different sources, such as military service, civilian events, or complex life circumstances.
