Purpose/Essence of the Project

Developing an alternative to the system used by the IDF Casualty Division’s officers and soldiers to manage communications with bereaved families.

An app on the civilian network that allows a Casualty Division officer/soldier to conduct efficient ongoing communication with bereaved families.

How Was the Idea Born?

In the course of accompanying families bereaved by the current war, we noticed that the army makes quite a few errors in day-to-day work – forgetting important memorial days, overlooking points that matter to the families, and committing various blunders with the bereaved. We realized that the basis for routine work is an organized database fronted by a convenient and effective interface that sits on the civilian network – through which casualty personnel can manage tasks and communication.

Why Did You Choose This Project?

War bereavement is a major issue in Israel, and the need for organized, accessible data concerns us directly as industrial and management engineers.

Is the Project Connected with a Personal Story of Yours or of Someone You Know?

Tomer is part of a bereaved family, and David works closely with families bereaved by the current war.
