Engineers Without Borders - Afeka Branch Creates Solutions for Petah Tikva Community

A team of 17 Afeka students from EWB - The Afeka Branch, from various engineering disciplines joined forces with the "Osim Shechuna" organization to construct an inclusive community center in Petah Tikva. The students dedicated their skills to create a safe gathering space where at-risk youth can access social services.

The project involved building stable surfaces for gatherings, accessible walkways with greenery, and an innovative seating area crafted entirely from recycled materials like tires, netting and concrete. Beyond construction, students engaged local children in meaningful discussions about engineering fields and career paths.

As a premier engineering institution, Afeka believes in the power of technology to uplift communities. Exposing underprivileged youth to STEM education is central to the college's mission of empowerment through innovation. Afeka takes great pride in students who use their knowledge to drive positive social impact.
