Over the past decade, Afeka’s Experiencing Engineering program has opened the doors of engineering to more than 10,000 students across Israel, transforming curiosity into confidence and exposure into aspiration.

Launched with a simple yet ambitious goal, to make engineering accessible, tangible, and inspiring, the program introduces middle and high school students to the world of technology through hands-on experiences, laboratory visits, and problem-solving workshops. What began as a focused outreach initiative has grown into a structured and impactful educational platform reaching thousands of young learners each year.

At Afeka, we believe that engineering is not only a profession, it is a mindset. Through guided activities in advanced laboratories, interactive workshops, and direct engagement with and our students, participants gain early exposure to innovation, creativity, and critical thinking. For many, this experience becomes their first meaningful connection to science and technology.

Over ten years of activity, the program has reached more than 10,000 students from diverse communities, thus strengthening access to STEM education and supporting Israel’s national effort to address the growing demand for engineers in its innovation-driven economy. As Israel continues to compete in a global high-tech landscape, expanding the future engineering talent pipeline is not only educationally significant, it is strategically essential.

Beyond numbers, the impact is reflected in growing interest in engineering studies, increased self-confidence among participants, and long-term educational ambition.
