רקע אקדמי

פרופ' עמי מויאל התמנה לנשיא אפקה – המכללה האקדמית בתל-אביב בשנת 2014. הוא בעל תואר דוקטור בתחום הנדסת אלקטרוניקה ומחשבים מאוניברסיטת בן גוריון. לפני מנוייו, ייסד פרופ' מויאל את המרכז לעיבוד שפה באפקה ועמד בראש בית הספר להנדסת חשמל.

בתפקיד נשיא אפקה

בתפקיד נשיא אפקה מוביל פרופ' מויאל אסטרטגיה של שינוי תהליך החינוך של מהנדסים ומהנדסות והתאמתו לצורכי עולם התעסוקה המשתנה ולדור הסטודנטים וסטודנטיות החדש; בהובלתו מתמקדת המכללה בשילוב מיומנויות אישיות בתוצרי הלמידה של התהליך החינוכי, בהטמעת שיטות פדגוגיות חדשניות בכיתות הלימוד, בעידוד פעילויות שונות ברחבי הקמפוס ומחוצה לו – ולא רק בכיתה, בחידוש המרחבים הפיזיים של הקמפוס ובהידוק קשריה עם התעשייה ומערכת החינוך – כל אלה כדי להקנות לסטודנטים של המכללה כישורים חיוניים הנדרשים ממהנדסים בעולם המודרני וליצור הוויית לימודים שבה מצוינות שלובה בהנאה.

תפקידים בתעשייה

לפני הצטרפותו לאפקה, פרופ' מויאל צבר ניסיון של 15 שנים במגוון תפקידים בתעשיית ההיי-טק הישראלית, ובפרט בחברת NSC Speech (Natural Speech Communication), חברה המספקת שירותים ומפתחת טכנולוגיות (תוכנה וחומרה) מבוססי ממשק קולי בתחומי הטלפוניה, מרכזי שירות והשוק הביטחוני. הוא החל את הקריירה ב-NSC כמהנדס מחקר ולאחר מכן התמנה לתפקידים ראש צוות פיתוח אלגוריתמים, סמנכ"ל פיתוח טכנולוגיה, סמנכ"ל פיתוח עסקי, ולבסוף למנכ"ל החברה.
