Afeka Entrepreneurship

Afeka Entrepreneurship is an original and unique activity of Afeka. Its role is to encourage students and staff to invent and to develop useful products and solutions for engineering problems, and to turn them into valuable commercial products.

The college maintains a large pool of ideas for useful products, which can be protected by patent and can be developed within the framework of final student projects. However, those ideas have not yet been realized, and they must be invented and developed. These ideas originate from students, college faculty, outside entrepreneurs, industrial firms approaching the college for assistance, and hospital departments presenting interesting problems to the college.

The college suggests that the students choose one of those future products for themselves, and enter into a partnership with the college, with the advisor and with the inventor. The purpose of the partnership is to invent and develop the solution and to sell it in the technological market. The college assists the partnerships in turning the ideas into projects, patents, sellable assets, and into startup companies that can recruit investment and provide livelihood for the entrepreneurs and their employees.

The college publishes a list of inventions that are waiting for students who will want to be part of them, to develop them during the course of their studies, and perhaps to turn them into final projects. The college also advises its students to complete their degree, and become full business partners in the rights of the new product that was developed with their participation.
